¿Cómo podemos ayudar?
I want to use 3DVista Hosting. What plan is right for me? What is the Storage and Bandwidth I need?
We apologize, but we are unable to provide personalized recommendations regarding which hosting plan would be suitable for each user.
Storage
Regarding estimating the approximate storage capacity a tour might occupy, it is challenging to provide a definitive answer. Pre-calculating the final size of a tour is not feasible due to numerous variables that need to be considered. Some of the factors that can significantly impact storage size include:
- Size or resolution of imported content in the tour, including multimedia files such as panoramas, 360-degree videos, photos, audios, as well as images used in skins, loading screens, etc.
- Format of the media files, as different formats may have varying file sizes (e.g., highly compressed JPEG vs. uncompressed PNG for images, JPEG vs. raw format for panoramas).
- Duration of media files like videos, 360-degree videos, or audios.
- Complexity or number of polygons in 3D models.
- Number of media elements used. A tour with only a few panoramas will have different requirements compared to one with 50 panoramas, 360-degree videos, photo albums, etc.
- Compression settings and chosen formats for publishing the tour. VTPro offers various settings for compression for each media, which can impact the final size of the files. And globally, in the Global settings of the Project tab, you can also choose to publish the images as Jpeg+PNG, WebP or Avif, each of them with a different ability to compress and reduce the final file size.
Each tour is unique, and even tours with the same number of panoramas can vary significantly. Once the tour is finalized and adjusted, you can estimate the total size it will occupy on the hosting platform by publishing it using the "for Web" option and examining the size of the generated folder post-publication. This will provide a fairly accurate idea of the storage needs for your hosting.
Bandwidth per Day
Regarding the other important consideration when choosing a hosting plan —bandwidth requirements— it is impossible to precisely quantify or foresee in advance. This is because several external variables come into play, dependent on how users interact with the tour. Factors influencing bandwidth consumption include:
- Number of daily visitors.
- Which media elements of the tour visitors access and how extensively they interact with them. Bandwidth usage will differ greatly between a user who views the first panorama and closes it versus another who navigates through all 10 panoramas, zooms in, plays all included videos in full, etc.
- Type of device used for viewing the tour. VTPro optimizes playback by publishing different formats or resolutions of certain media, such as videos, tailored to each device's requirements, resulting in varying bandwidth usage.
Additionally, all factors mentioned earlier regarding storage also impact bandwidth, multiplying the variables and scenarios that may arise.
Conclusions
Due to these complexities, it is not feasible for us to recommend one hosting plan over another, as we lack the capability to estimate all these considerations accurately. Each user will have a better understanding of the type of tour they wish to create and the potential impact on viewer interaction, making their estimation more reliable than ours.
As an illustrative example, at the bottom of this page, we have a simple tour with its storage data: https://www.3dvista.com/en/products/hosting/
Nevertheless, our hosting plans are highly flexible, allowing you to upgrade or downgrade at any time based on your needs. Therefore, starting with the most affordable plan and adjusting as needed may be a good approach.
Please also note that we have systems in place for real-time monitoring and control of usage. In our 3DVista Cloud control panel, the "Usage" section allows you to monitor both the space used and daily bandwidth consumption. You can even view graphical representations of the historical usage to track its evolution over time.
Should you exceed the daily bandwidth limit, the tour will temporarily stop displaying to users until the following day. During this time, a page with the message "Service temporarily disabled" will be shown. The limit resets at 00:00 UTC, after which the tour becomes visible again, and data usage starts counting from zero.
Finally, remember that you have a list of FAQs related to hosting also at the end of this page, where you can find answers to more specific details on all these questions: https://www.3dvista.com/en/products/hosting/
