Everything You Need to Know
How to Download the App
As mentioned, accessing the app is as simple as visiting app.3dvista.com from any browser on any device.
From there, you can either use the app directly in your browser — even offline — or install it on your device to use it as a fully native app.
Once installed, it will behave like any other application: the browser bar will disappear, and you’ll be able to add a shortcut to your desktop or taskbar.
To install the app, click the “Install” icon located in the top right corner of the screen.
Depending on your device and browser, you may also see a prompt asking if you’d like to install the app as soon as you open it.
NOTE FOR META QUEST USERS:
The install-as-app option is not available on Meta Quest devices. However, the app works just fine via the built-in browser. In this case, we recommend adding the app to your Library for quicker access. To do this, open the Meta Browser menu (…) and select Add this page to your library.
Why This New Format?
With this new installation system, there’s no need to search for the app in separate stores or marketplaces for each platform. And when it comes to future custom-branded apps, this approach greatly simplifies the otherwise lengthy and complex submission and approval process required by app stores like Apple’s App Store or Google Play.
New Preview Option with QR Code or 6-Letter Code
To use the new QR Preview feature, make sure you have the latest version of VT Pro installed.
Simply click the new button located next to the classic «Preview» option. You’ll then be able to choose the type of device you want to preview the tour on.
When you click «Proceed», a QR code will be generated, which you can scan directly using the 3DVista app on your mobile device. A 6-character code will also be created, which you can copy and paste into the app on any desktop or VR device — just make sure the 3DVista app is open. To enter the code, click the white floating button with the QR/code icon, located in the bottom-right corner of the app.
Once the code is entered, the tour will instantly load on the connected device, and VT Pro will automatically detect the connection. You can even link multiple devices at the same time by clicking «Add Device».
And if you make any changes to the tour and press the QR Preview button again, your updates will automatically sync to the connected devices — no need to re-enter the code.
Important: The preview popup window in VT Pro must remain open while you’re viewing the tour on connected devices.
Direct Access to Your Tours from 3DVista Hosting
If you have a 3DVista hosting account, the new app offers a key advantage: you can access all your published tours directly, with automatic cloud synchronization.
Simply log in to the app using your hosting credentials, and you’ll instantly see all your published tours. From there, you can view them online or, if you prefer, download them with a single click to make them available offline. You can even download multiple tours at once quickly and easily.
Once downloaded, each tour will be marked with a green indicator, confirming it’s stored locally and ready for offline viewing. And if you delete a tour from the app, it will only be removed from your device — not from your hosting account, where it will remain published and accessible.
This integration with 3DVista Hosting allows you to keep all your tours organized, always in sync, and accessible from any device — with no extra steps or complications.
Publishing for the 3DVista App
With the new «Publish for 3DVista App» option in VT Pro, one of the key benefits is that you can now generate files that are specifically optimized and compressed for each target device. This takes into account factors such as the maximum video resolution each device supports, as well as its processing capabilities.
This approach helps avoid including unnecessary files that won’t be used on certain platforms — reducing the overall package size and improving performance. For example, videos for Quest 2 and Quest 3 can now reach up to 8K resolution and are compressed using H.265, which offers better image quality and smaller file sizes. Pico Ultra also now supports H.265 encoding and benefits from the same improvements.
When you publish using this method, VT Pro will generate a single .TS file for each selected device. You can then add this file to the app via the “Add” button. Once added, the tour will be stored on your device and available for convenient offline viewing at any time.
Important: Keep in mind that tours downloaded from 3DVista Cloud on VR devices are not as optimized as those published directly using the “3DVista App” option with the .TS format.
Downloading a Tour in the App via QR Code
In addition to the temporary preview option, the new 3DVista app also allows you to directly download a tour to your device using a QR code generated in VT Pro. While both features use the same «Preview QR» button, in this case, the tour is not opened for viewing, but rather downloaded directly and saved within the app so you can access it anytime — even offline.
To do this, simply open your tour in VT Pro, click the “Preview QR” button, and select the type of device you want to send the tour to. Once you click “Proceed”, a QR code and a six-character code will be generated. On the destination device, open the 3DVista app, tap the “+” button inside the first empty thumbnail, then select the QR/code icon. Enter the code or scan the QR, and instead of launching a temporary preview, the tour will be automatically downloaded and added to your tour list — marked with a green indicator confirming it’s available for offline viewing.
This feature is perfect when working locally and you want to quickly send a tour to other devices without using the cloud or exporting files manually.
How to Uninstall the App
To uninstall the app, simply follow the standard process for removing native apps on your device.
On desktop systems, go to your applications panel or system settings and uninstall the app from there.
During uninstallation, you’ll be asked if you’d like to remove all associated data — in this case, any downloaded tours.
Important: If you’re using Safari (typically on Apple devices), downloaded tours may be stored separately from the app itself. So if you’ve already uninstalled the app but want to free up space, you’ll need to open Safari and manually delete those files from within the browser.
Your new ally for a better workflow
In short, the new 3DVista app is designed to make your life easier.
It’s faster, more versatile, and far more convenient — whether you’re working on desktop, mobile, or VR.
We invite you to give it a try and see how it can improve your day-to-day workflow.
