Live Guided Tours

THE NEW CONCEPT TO COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR CLIENTS

Take your guests “by the hand” on a shared virtual tour with personal guidance. Synchronizing where you look, you can take turns on controlling the virtual tour. Let them explore on their own or pick them back up anytime to follow your route and mimic your screen on theirs.

Create and meet inside a 360º tour in minutes

Create your virtual tour as usual. Use and interlink 360º images, add info hotspots, audios etc. Tick the Live Guided Tour box and hit “Publish”.

2

3

Dial In

Right click on the virtual tour online to start the session as Host and wait for people to call you.

More than Screen Sharing

So why not just use Zoom with a normal virtual tour then? First, there’s quality and speed. Sharing a multimedia-intense virtual tour via a screenshare will result in jerky images, latency and overall an undesirable experience. With 3DVista Live Guided Tours every participant is inside their own actual virtual tour and sees their own media with the participant video bubbles overlaid on top. This preserves the quality of the virtual tour images and the smoothness when moving through the rooms – even if they’re controlled by somebody else.

Second, you’re preserving interactivity, the essence of a virtual tour. Screen Sharing a virtual tour would not allow participants to take control of the tour and explore themselves. With 3DVista Live Guided Tours (and the permission of the Host), any guest can deviate from the route and navigate on their own, open any hotspots they’d be interested in and feel in full control of the virtual visit.

Modes

Party Mode

All mics On. Everyone can talk, all webcams are visible and any guest can request control to guide the tour for everyone to follow. Perfect for virtual open houses, one-on- one calls or small group presentations.

Presentation Mode

All but the host’s mics are off and everyone follows you. Ideal mode for presentations and teaching sessions with many users. Guests can request control and ask for their mic to be turned on.

Silent Mode

All mics and videos are Off . You guide the tour in silence mode. Guests follow you with their webcam turned off and without the possibility to take control of the tour for everyone or to ask for their mic to be turned on.

Multiple sessions

ONE VIRTUAL TOUR – SEVERAL CONFERENCE ROOMS

One virtual tour can have many simultaneous and independent LGT sessions in parallel. As soon as Host Nr. 1 sets their session to “busy”, he or she frees it up for Host Nr. 2 to start a new session. Depending on the number of hosts or guides you have available and the number of participants (and privacy wishes) you want in each session, you can have various individual conference rooms at the same time.

With a little trick, you can even create your own little call center. Have guests choose their hosts, whether it’s depending on projects, languages or personal preference. Have guests select which host they want to speak to.

Your Insurance
for all networks

TURN Service

FOR LIVE GUIDED TOURS

Some corporate networks and strict firewalls block the free Peer-to-Peer based Live Guided Tours offered by 3DVista. That’s why we developed LGT with TURN: It detects those users who have difficulties connecting through the free version and connects them through a relay (or TURN) server. It’s like an insurance that only jumps in when there’s really a problem. That saves you using (and paying) unnecessary bandwidth.

How does it work?

Create a new or use any existing 3DVista tour, tick the “Live Guided Tour " box inside the Publish window and establish a password that your hosts must know in order to start a session. Hit Publish, and that’s it – ready to meet your clients online inside a shared virtual tour.

Your clients access the web where you present your virtual tour (e.g. your website) and click on the button “Join Session”. They’ll be guided through a few windows to let them know about their data privacy and functions inside the tool and then be greeted by you – the host.

faqS

Can I host on my own server and use Live Guided Tours?
Yes. whether hosted on the 3DVista Hosting service and on your own server, your tours can have the LGT feature and people will be able to connect to a shared virtual tour.

How many guests can I have at the same time?
The Live Guided Tour feature itself doesn't have a limit of users that can connect simultaneously. The limit is set by the connection and device of the host. If the connection is poor or the computer is very old, then the session will most likely not be able to support a lot of users.

Can I have multiple sessions with multiple hosts open at the same time?
Yes, you can have as many LGT sessions open within one tour as you want. This post explains in detail how to do it: https://www.3dvista.com/en/blog/let-guests-choose-t-to-talk-to-in-a-live-guided-tour/

Do the participants’ webcam video and audio count against my tour hosting fee?
No. The bandwidth of the webcam video and audio connection is done by P2P or TURN, so it is free or counts against your contracted TURN plan. But it will never affect the bandwidth of your virtual tour hosting service.

Can I use my phone or tablet to do an LGT?
Yes, you can use your phone and tablet to join an LGT session as a guest, but you will need a computer to host.

Is LGT included with my VTPRO license?
Yes, LGT is included for free in all VT PRO licenses purchased after June 2019

What do Live guided Tours cost?
The LGT feature is free, it is a standard feature included in 3DVista VT PRO (for licenses bought after June 2019). There are no costs per session either and if you use sessions with P2P only, you will have no follow-up costs whatsoever. So with the one-time payment of your VT PRO license (499€), you can conduct as many LGT sessions as you wish in as many virtual tours as you want – forever. Refer to TURN plans if you require an alternative to the free P2P connections.
